Poster information

The Water New Zealand Conference & Expo 2024 will be held at Claudelands, Kirikiriroa Hamilton.

We are looking for a call for poster abstracts to supplement the technical programme and provide further insight into the industry and its people.

As per previous years, posters will be printed by the organisers and prominently displayed at the conference. Poster presenters will also have the opportunity to address delegates and judges during the lunch break on Wednesday, 25 September 2024.

Best Poster Award

The award for best poster will be presented at The Downer Gala Dinner and Awards on Thursday, 26 September 2024.

Timeline

  • Poster portal opens: Wednesday, 6 March 2024
  • Poster portal closes: Wednesday, 3 April 2024
  • Poster copy due: Friday, 20 September 2024
  • Poster Question and Answer session: Wednesday, 25 September 2024 (during the lunch break)

Poster updates for 2024

This year, the Technical Committee will vote for the posters based on visual appeal, content and readability.

Poster Guidelines and Instructions

Poster summaries submitted must be a maximum of 200 words, excluding title and authors and must include:

  • Title (no longer than 10 words)
  • Author(s)
  • Keywords (up to 8)
  • References

All poster presenters agree to the following:

  • Design a poster and submit it by the deadline. This year these will be displayed digitally on interactive screens so need to be in 9:16 aspect ratio (portrait), and a .PDF file.
  • To be onsite for presentation of the poster to the delegation and to judges.

All poster summaries are subject to approval by Water New Zealand’s Technical Committee.

Entry Criteria

Entries are welcome on any topic of relevance to the water industry, with entries from students particularly encouraged.

The deadline for poster abstracts is Wednesday, 3 April 2024 and entries must be submitted through the portal.

Judges and Judging Criteria

Posters are assessed by the technical committee on the following criteria;

  • Technical content
  • Practical content
  • Future use
  • Clarity and logic
  • Standard of the verbal presentation
