5S (Gold Shovelers) Society YWP Conference Attendance Prize

The 5S (Gold Shovelers) Society YWP Conference Attendance Prize offers a Water New Zealand Young Water Professional recent graduate the opportunity to attend the Water New Zealand Conference & Expo or the Water New Zealand Stormwater Conference, to broaden their knowledge and gain a greater appreciation of the water environment, water management, water engineering and the water industry at large. The objective of providing this opportunity to the recipient is that they will be better informed and motivated to advance their career in the wider water field and water industry.

The prize winner will receive:
• Travel and accommodation to the Water New Zealand Conference & Expo, provided by the Gold Shovelers.
• a full registration to the Water New Zealand Conference & Expo including the Conference Dinner or the Water New Zealand Stormwater Conference including Dinner, provided by Water New Zealand.

The 5S (Gold Shovelers) Society YWP Conference Attendance Prize nomination is now closed.

Hynds Paper of the Year Award

In considering the merits of a paper, the Technical Committee considers:

• Technical content: is the technical content sound, does it have sufficient substance, and does it increase available knowledge?
• Practical content: does it have practical application?
• Future use: can it be used to assist future work?
• Clarity and logic of the written presentation
• Originality: is there something new that is innovative?

Trility Young Author of the Year Award

The Young Author of the Year Award has been established to encourage the participation of young authors at the Water New Zealand Conference & Expo. This award is given to the best paper of the year, by an author aged 35 years or younger.

Hynds Presentation of the Year Award

In considering the merits of a presentation, the Technical Committee considers:

• Visual aids – clarity, legibility, catches interest.
• Delivery – title, introduction, logical flow.
• Answering questions – confidence, completeness of answers and audience response
• Content & actual content presented

Poster of the Year Award

Posters are assessed by the Technical Committee on the following criteria;

• Technical content
• Practical content
• Future use
• Clarity and logic
• Standard of the verbal presentation

This year delegates will also vote for their favourite poster within the Conference Delegate App.

Best Exhibition Stand

Exhibitors are an integral part of the Water New Zealand Conference & Expo, and the award judges are always impressed with the quality and amount of interest generated by exhibition stands at each year’s event.

There are two categories: Best Single Stand and Best multiple Stand, with a runner up in each category.

In judging the award, consideration is given to the layout of the stand, design flair and creativity. The winners are presented at the final morning tea of the conference.
